Dear Friends and Supporters,
Melinda and I have been lacing up our sneakers for the Drumstick Dash since 2016, and what started as a fun way to burn off Thanksgiving feasts preemptively has grown into something much more meaningful. It's been our annual motivation to keep up with our four-legged friends, often humorously referred to as our "drumstick dash training partners." Over the years, we've trotted and dashed through this fantastic race, sometimes bringing our own pets along with the adventure.
However, this year, we've decided to up the ante. We want to give back to the incredible community supporting us through our business, Urban Uplander Pet Care, over the past eight years. This community has been our backbone, a network of generous, kind-hearted people who have helped us realize our dreams. We are grateful for our support, and it's time to pay it forward.
This year, we aim to raise $ 1,000 for Wheeler Mission through the Drumstick Dash. Wheeler Mission is a remarkable organization that provides shelter, meals, addiction recovery programs, and crucial support to men, women, and children facing homelessness, poverty, and addiction in Indianapolis. They have been tirelessly serving our neighbors for over a century, profoundly impacting the lives of those in need.
Why Donate to Wheeler Mission?
On any night, over 1,600 people in Indianapolis find themselves without a home, including children in our local schools and familiar faces we encounter daily. Wheeler Mission offers hope and support to these individuals, regardless of their background, faith, or circumstances. With nine locations across Indianapolis and Bloomington, Wheeler is the largest and most diverse ministry of its kind in the state, providing critical services to those who need it most.
